When news breaks of a new US Supreme Court decision, I'm sure many of you go straight to the opinion, hot off the press, read it, thoughtfully digest it, then move on to secondary sources to determine the import.Me, I usually skip the USSCT version and go straight to NYTimes reporter Linda Greenhouse. She always cuts to the heart of the case, in her smart, spot on, and efficient way. Later, I (sometimes) read the actual opinion. But that methodology will have to change, because she is leaving the New York Times and her Supreme Court beat at the end of this session. Sounds like on hell of a party they threw for her, too, with most of the Justices (sans Scalia and Thomas) and many well deserved accolades. Here's Tony Mauro's coverage.Full post as published by Kansas Federal Defender on June 16, 2008 (boomark / email).
