Texas is set to carry out its 15th execution of 2008, tonight in Huntsville.  It would be the 420th in the state since 1982.  It would be the first of six scheduled executions in Texas this month.  TDCJ maintains this list of scheduled executions.AP has this report on Elkie Taylor via the Dallas Morning News. Texas has by far the most active death chamber in the United States accounting for more than 37% of all the executions in America.
