The above is a portion of a recent mailer sent out by Team Levey Cohen.  Despite blog formatting problems, the message is clear: Jahra McLawrence is Black. Let's get one thing perfectly straight.  This kind of tactic has no place in a judicial election.  It was wrong when Catalina Avalos tried it against  Ian Richards, and it's even worse now, following long overdue reforms currently sweeping the courthouse and the historic 2010 primary.  In fact it's despicable, even if permissible under the rules. Here's what McLawrence had to say after he found out about the advertisement: "You don't have to be a lawyer or a rocket scientist to figure out the intent behind the mailer.  It's unfortunate she's sunk so low." We've always given Mardi the benefit of the doubt, despite all the trash talk...continue to full post
