TUESDAY NOTES - HOLLYWOOD FALLOUT

THE FBI & FDLE - click here for the Public Defender's letter to Chief Wagner of the Hollywood PD, regarding the now infamous DUI video.  Our favorite part? - the "cc" at the end of page two, copying the FBI, FDLE, and the Broward SAO.  Howard asks a lot of tough questions, which we doubt the Chief or Mr. Satz will want to answer.  We'd like to add a couple more - isn't fudging police reports a widespread practice in Broward?  Don't we see serious credibility busters every day, with judges and prosecutors barely skipping a beat as motions are denied and pleas are taken?  Does the SAO provide any oversight, in a county famous nationwide for corruption and the relentless persecution of its poorest and most vulnerable citizens?  Is the leadership of the SAO principally responsible for the reckless indifference to the law and excesses displayed all too often by the Hollywood PD, the Fort Lauderdale Raiders and others?The Public Defender will be filing the videotape as reciprocal discovery in many of its Hollywood cases...continue to full post
