Texas Execution

Texas carried out its 11th execution of 2008 last night in Huntsville; the second this week.  It's the state's 416th Texas execution since 1982.  Texas has the most active death chamber in the United States, by far, accounting for more than 36% of all the executions in America. Last night's execution was the 27th in America this year; the 1,126th in the country since executions resumed in 1977. "Texas executes killer in 2002 triple slaying," is the AP report. TDCJ maintains this list of scheduled executions.  Two more Texas executions are scheduled for next week.
