Our blog ads caused some controversy a few weeks ago, so we thought it was worth mentioning what we're doing with the balance of our (modest) ad revenue for the year.  We decided to donate the funds to the National Immigration Law Center, an organization that handles a range of immigration-related legal issues.

We have spotlighted a number of problems with the representation of indigent clients in recent months (see here and here), especially in the criminal defense context.  The problems can be even worse for immigrants because of the nature of the immigration court system, so we thought that the NILC was a particularly good choice. 

A few of us are making an additional contribution to the organization beyond the blog's ad revenue.  (Sorry, google, but we're not making all that much money from you.)  If any readers would like to add to our Legal Ethics Forum donation, send me an email or just send the NILC a donation directly.  Either way, we hope you'll consider make a donation to a legal services organization.  In the current economic climate, these groups are likely to be especially hard hit.  You can find worthy organizations relatively easily through this site, which allows you to search using a variety of criteria.
