The DOJ?s report on the OLC torture memos is finally out.  Here is the original report, dated 29 July 2009, finding ethical violations and recommending that Yoo be reported to the state bar. Here is the final report, signed by David Margolis and dated 5 January 2010, which rejects the original report and finds that although serious errors of judgment were made, there is no basis for the conclusion that ethics rules had been broken.  Here is John Yoo?s response to the original report.  Here is Jay Bybee?s response to the original report.  There's a lot to read, but please comment as soon as you have some thoughts.
