Happy Birthday, Genie

Let me join Greg Laden in wishing a very happy birthday to one of my favorite people, Genie Scott, the executive director of the NCSE. It has been my very good fortune to call Genie a friend and a colleague for many years. She is simply one of the kindest, brightest and most charming people I know. I always laugh when I see IDers describe her as some sort of female Darth Vader; the reality could not be further from the truth.

Everyone who cares about science education owes her an enormous debt of gratitude for the work she has done so brilliantly for so long. Those of us who have been involved in the day to day fight over the years owe an even greater debt for her friendship, her inspiration and for all that she has taught us and helped us to achieve. Happy birthday, Genie. May you have many more and may they all be happy.
