Houston Police Overreach Case Settled

Remember the case I wrote about last week where the police arrested two brothers for taping their drug raid on a neighbor's house and confiscated the cameras and disks without a warrant? The case has been settled for $1.7 million. And I didn't realize this, but this is the case that led to the resignation of Houston D.A. Chuck Rosenthal, the corrupt hypocrite who went to the Supreme Court demanding that he be allowed to continue to throw gays in prison and turned out to be cheating on his wife. It was the subpoena from that case that turned up the emails revealing his affair with his secretary. Synchronicity, don't you think?

John Roberts: How can a public official protect themselves against these kinds of scandals?
