Interesting observation from an employment counselor about biz op scammers.

"Ads that offer big bucks and the promise of autonomy never lose their ability to ignite burned-out workers' dreams.

I once sent away for free material about a job that involved reading books for profit.

The ad led me to believe that publishing companies would pay people for their opinion on books.

I began to smell a rat when the free information contained little information but told me to send $100 for more information.

Other business schemes I encountered as an employment counselor included multi-level marketing schemes, where the main thrust of the business was to recruit other people to sell."

Excellent line: "[Ads which offer] the promise of autonomy never lose their ability to ignite burned-out workers' dreams."

The presumed autonomy doesn't exist in franchises, but nonetheless prospective franchisee who have been ejected from corporate America flock to these "opportunities".

The worst time to look for business is when you have just been fired or "need" to control against being fired again.
