CLE Programme Note: Security for Lawyers In a Wired World

ADVERTISEMENTS

A short note that I'll be participating in an upcoming Law Society of Upper Canada teleseminar, Security for Lawyers in a Wired World, on October 14.

This CLE programme will tackle emerging confidentiality and security issues for the profession, with focus on "the steps you need to take to protect yourself and your clients in this new technology-driven world."

I'm scheduled to address Cloud Computing with David Whelan of the LSUC. David Canton will be moderating the programme.

The full agenda is as follows:

12:00 - 12:05 Welcome and Opening Remarks

David R. Canton, Harrison Pensa LLP
12:05 - 12:23 Metadata, electronic file management and file destruction

David Outerbridge, Torys LLP

Peter Ruby, Goodmans LLP

12:23 - 12:41 Mobile Computing

Candice Low, Info-Tech Research Group

David Whelan, The Law Society of Upper Canada

12:41 - 12:59 Cloud Computing

David Whelan, The Law Society of Upper Canada

Garry J. Wise, Wise Law Office

12:59 - 1:17 Current and future trends

Candice Low, Info-Tech Research Group

I hope that some of our readers will be able to participate. I expect that there will be a great deal of useful, practical information from the panel.

Members of the profession can register online for the programme.
