WTF? Talk about underwhelming ... Grant Denyer is Sunrise's "stunning addition to the show"

ADVERTISEMENTS

Last week the producer of Sunrise, Adam Boland, said that in addition to a new set, new graphics and a new format, there would be also beone big, big rabbit that we?re going to pull out of the hat".  He said it would be "an addition to our presenting line-up" that "will be a stunning addition to the show and a lot of people will be very happy.?

Well it has now been revealed that the "big, big rabbit", the "stunning addition to the show" is none other than Grant Denyer.  From TV Tonight:

Grant Denyer will return to the role that made him a network personality, fronting the weather for Sunrise.

He returns to show from tomorrow as main weather gal Fifi Box becomes the show?s Entertainment Editor.

That role was under James Tobin?s watch, who will in turn fill in for Denyer when he takes time out next month for his honeymoon.

?I?ve had four years of nice sleeps-ins, but it?s time for me to get stuck right back into it,? said Denyer.

Talk about an anti-climax.

It seems Adam Boland's vision for the revamped Sunrise is nothing more than a new set, new graphics, and the old team (including Kevin Rudd).  If I was Karl Stefanovic, Lisa WIlkinson and the Today team this morning, I'd be feeling pretty good right about now.
