: My So-Called Internet-Based LifeEverybody's working for the weekend
Last week, a small group of people were re-audited because there were "concerns" about their performance. I was not in that group, praise jeebus. But a few of my classmates were. A couple of them did not make it through and are no longer with the company.
I feel... kind of weird about this. One in particular - I encouraged her to apply, really tried to help her out with things, etc. It is not my fault that she apparently wasn't doing well, and she seems sort of relieved actually. Seems like the job was not a good fit for her, and now she is going to try and look for a job in the city where her husband is teaching or strike out on her own. She's optimistic about her future, and so am I.
But I still feel weird about it. Though I suppose her losing her job is Not All About Me.
Anyway.
Lots of gym-going lately. I have two coworkers meeting me there at 6 am every weekday. It keeps me accountable on those mornings where it's a pain in the ass to get up at 5:15.
Lots of cooking too. Tonight, enchiladas. Tomorrow mapo tofu and more tomato sauce.
