ADVERTISEMENTS

Much thanks to Lanny for bestowing upon me an Excellent Blog award...it came with some wonderful words & compliments, and all I can say is Thanks! Now I'm supposed to hand the award onto someone else who I think is an excellent blogger...and so I'd like to hand it over to Grace, who makes me laugh on a daily basis. Or at least on the frequency of which she updates her blog. You know what I mean.
I hardly ever get late night phone calls anymore. Gone are the days from college when it was common for my phone to ring at 2, 3, 4 in the morning from a friend wanting me to meet them out, oblivious to the fact that I might have gone to bed at 11 pm. (Or, um, 10 pm. Which is definately the norm for me. Oh man, did I just admit that??) So this weekend, when my phone rang TWICE after 3 am I was a bit shocked. The first one was a call from my brother's phone, but it wasn't my brother on the other end. Chalking it up to a "good night out" and figuring I'd solve that mystery in the morning, I went back to sleep. Only to have my phone ring again, this time, a gentlemen I'd briefly dated on the other end...someone I hadn't spoken to in a few years at least.
Daisy: Um...hello? (Clears throat, rubs eyes)
Blast From the Past: Hey! Remember me?
Daisy: Mmhggg.
BFTP: Um so. How are things?? How is law school??
Daisy: Isn't it a bit late...or early...for this?? (Keeps rubbing eyes, confused)
BFTP: I know, its been awhile. How is law school??
Daisy: Good. Mmmm (begins to fall back asleep) um...how is med school?
BFTP: Good, you know. So what kind of law do you want to go in to??
Daisy (Snarfles a bit) Um you know. Medical malpractice.
BFTP: Oh great. Are you on my side or theirs??
Daisy: (Ah!! A conversation ender!!) Right now, theirs. Sorry.
BFTP: Oh. So, um...you dating anyone?
Daisy: Yes. I have to go now.
I mean really??
And, when is spell check coming back to blogger? The world needs to know.
Oh, and go check out Streetcar Art...for all you New Orleans lovers out there.
