Home, home, home again!

ADVERTISEMENTS
I'm back from my adventures in the Great Big World, and home again in NoTown, relieved of the pressures of having to choose from actual 'cuisine' and 'vegetables' when dining out, and back in the company of Roommate and Roommate's crazy cat, Sofa (thus named for her squishiness, nappiness, and tendency to gravitate toward her favorite place).

As a reward for my exhausting journey, I'm camping out on the couch, drinking beer (Well, after the coffee and the pop-tarts. It's early.), watching Animal Planet, and generally being a dissolute lush. I stick to what I'm good at. This afternoon's project: cooking for Roommate. It's nice to cook for an audience again.

School is coming on at an alarming speed. I made a journal (not the Big Burrito, but the Champion of Second Place Finishes Journal), and am dabbling in all sorts of other activities, plus the usual drinking, eating, and causing a ruckus. Rock on.

Anyway- thats whats new. I promise a more entertaining post when I've recovered from my post-road-trip haze, or when I'm doing something besides hanging out with Sofa, on the sofa.

Since last week you got to thank your lucky stars that you weren't dating me, this week- don't you wish you were living with me? Roommate is coming home from work today to one of the following (her choice- we have chicken to get rid of):

Chicken Croquette
Chicken Tetrazzini
Baked stuffed chicken breasts

+ baked potatoes & oven-crisped green beans.

I will let you know how it goes. This year, rather than reading, I'm going to buy other people's outlines with home cooking.

PS: Walmart is for moms who "can't go to school with her, but can give her the things she needs to feel good about herself"?!? Dear sweet baby Jesus, did no one else go to my middle school? Also: Good, Walmart. Way to base your kids' worth on the fugly-ass clothes they wear.

I know my self esteem is entirely based on the Garth Brooks T-shirt/Electric blue corduroy overall ensemble I wore from 12 to 14 1/2 years of age. Glad to see we've got a pattern here.
