In the event of fire we're all going to freeze to death

ADVERTISEMENTS

Don't pull thisWe had just logged in this afternoon to write a post about how we can't believe Lile Moot Court is an extracurricular activity -- you know, something you do for fun -- when the power went out in the library.  After that happened the fire alarm went off.  Study Break!  We still don't know what the deal was because we're lazy and stuck in the library writing a brief, but if you weren't here be glad you weren't.

The alarms were painfully loud.  Then once we got outside we saw that it was drizzling rain and there was a layer of ice on parts of the sidewalk.  After nearly eating it we stood in the cold for about 20 minutes.  About thirty or forty law students huddled right next to the door off WB.  As for clearing the building, not so much.  The highlight was probably the traffic jam that occured at Massie and Arlington as every single student who didn't have to be there said, "Eff this," and went home.  A few emergency responders showed up and eventually the alarm went off.

The evacuation was pretty lackadaisical, with people going in and out and wandering the halls.  I'm not sure if that's because no one knows how to properly empty the building or if it's because they trust law students to go in the opposite direction of fire.

Whoa.  The librarians just turned off the lights and I thought I was going to have to do it again.  Anyway, the point is: Lile Moot Court is painful and you don't get to play Guitar Hero while you do it.
