: PrawfsNot-a-book-blog
By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel
Many thanks to Dan and Prawfs for having me back. In part as a result of my first Prawfs stint, I was sufficiently emboldened (read foolhardy) to start my own blog this past fall, in connection with the release of my book Snitching: Criminal Informants and the Erosion of American Justice (NYU Press). The blog is named, predictably, Snitching.org. Let me begin by saying that the experience has given me renewed respect for the Prawfs organizers--I thought running a blog would be a lot of work and indeed it is. The idea was to create a public resource on the particular subject of criminal informant use like so many other subject-matter blogs out there--to explain why it's important, report on current events/news stories/legislation, and provide informational resources for lay people as well as lawyers, such as government reports, model briefs, and so forth. The blog isn't really about the book, although of course I hope that people who read the blog might think the subject interesting enough to want to pick up a copy. Now that I am done with the book tour and the publicity part of being an author, I am thinking about how to beef up the usefulness of the blog. If anyone has suggestions, or would like to guest blog on related criminal justice topics (plea bargaining, prosecutors, police, Fourth Amendment all come to mind), please let me know.
