Thursday Morning Open Thread

By Jeralyn

ADVERTISEMENTS

One of my favorite things about TalkLeft is that we never know who's going to blog on any given day. Unless one of us is gone for days at a time or knows in advance that work will keep us from blogging for a week, we don't coordinate blogging schedules. The reason is simple: I don't like authority in my life. Blogging is fun and a hobby. When you have to post on schedule, it's more like a job.

So since I will be at the Pelosi-DeGette-Polis health care event in Denver this afternoon, with my little Flip Video camera and iPhone, I have to work this morning. {More...]

Will anyone else be blogging here? I have no idea. In case everyone else is busy with their real lives, here's an open thread for you, all topics welcome.

I'll be back by dinnertime with video footage and photos of the right-wing protesters who try and disrupt the event. Memo to teabaggger sheeples: Next time pick a less progressive place to campaign. We're very tolerant but also very territorial here about interlopers coming in to cause disruptions at our events. You want to act like fools, we'll be glad to take your photos and blanket them on the internet. They do it for dui drivers and busted johns, why not you?

If any progressives want to join us, we'll be at 21st and Stout in Downtown Denver at 2:00 pm, at a free medical clinic for the homeless. Also on hand: Nancy Pelosi and Reps. Diana DeGette and Jared Polis. I have a feeling a great time will be had by all who are there to learn about health care reform. As for the sheeples -- the right-wing protesters coming in at the request of outside conglomerates -- I don't think they will have as much fun as we will. They will most likely seem like horses' ass*s by the end of the day. Two year olds interrupt speakers with chanting. Adults listen to what their elected leaders have to say and then ask intelligent questions. We'll see who is who tomorrow.
