With First Judicial District Court Administrator Dave Lawrence retiring Feb. 18, a committee of the FJD's president judges and a member of the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts will interview candidates to replace Lawrence, according to a recent interview with Pennsylvania Court Administrator Zygmont Pines.

The committee's recommendations of suitable candidates will then be forwarded to Pines, who will forward the information to Pennsylvania Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille, the Supreme Court liaison justice to the FJD, Pines said.

Castille then will decide how to proceed in picking the next FJD court administrator, Pines said.
More than 40 candidates have applied, Pines said.

The president judges are Common Pleas Court President Judge Pamela Pryor Dembe, Municipal Court President Judge Marsha H. Neifield, and Traffic Court President Judge Thomasine Tynes. The AOPC representation is Joe Mittleman, the AOPC's director of judicial programs.
