New Jersey Brain Injury Association to host two new seminars

The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey will be holding new seminars to educate about brain injury as follows: "Research and Medical Advances in the Acute Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury" on Wednesday, May 19, and "Brain Injury: Meaningful Connections and Innovative Choices," on Thursday, May 20.

Both seminars will be held at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel and Conference Center in Eatontown, New Jersey.

"Research and Medical Advances in the Acute Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury" was developed for the medical professionals on the front lines of brain injury. Topics include lessons learned on the battlefield in Iraq and Afganistan, neuroimaging, ICP monitoring and decompressive craniotomy, functional MRI, minimally conscious state, coma stimulation, PTSD, blast injuries, and advocacy to establish guidelines for the treatment of traumatic brain injury.

"Brain Injury: Meaningful Connections and Innovative Choices" includes workshops and presentations addressing meditation therapy, volunteering, assistive technology, social networking, dual diagnosis, creativity, Wii technology and rehabilitation, pediatrics, legal issues, research, and more.
