• White House Counsel Robert Bauer “pleaded” in an unusual public appearance Tuesday for U.S. senators to allow more votes on confirming judicial nominees, the Blog of Legal Times reported.

• Justice Courtney Henry of the Arkansas Supreme Court said she will step aside from cases involving a lawyer who she is dating, and who has given her more than $99,000 in gifts, the Associated Press said.

• A six-and-a-half-year prison term in a child pornography case was overturned when the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals questioned the fairness of the sentencing judge, according to a New York Times article. An appeals panel said the trial judge wrongly found that the accused would go back to viewing child pornography ?because of an as-of-yet undiscovered gene.?
