By Chrissie Cole
S&S Worldwide Inc., announced a voluntary recall of Flower and Insect Painted Wood Beads because they contain excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard.
While there have been no reports of illness associated with the recall, lead can be toxic if ingested by children.
The recall involves children's painted wooden beads in the shapes of insects and flowers. They were sold through S&S Worldwide's catalog and on their Web site in various designs and colors. They affected beads carry Model number BE1190.
Consumers are advised to take the recalled beads from children and to contact the company for a refund or replacement product.
For more information call (800) 937-3482 or visit their Web site at www.ssww.com/productsafety.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission News Release contains pictures of the recalled products for reference.
