Dietary Supplements Found to Have Sibutramine

Through lab tests conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Universal ABC Beauty Supply Internaional, Inc. has been advised to recall a number of their dietary weight loss supplements. The over-the-counter weight loss products were found to contain Sibutramine which is a drug that has been approved by the FDA to help control weight loss.

While the appetitive suppressant is an approved drug, the products that it was found in are not governed by the FDA and carry no approval. Sibutramine has been found to cause serious health risks to individuals who have pre-existing heart conditions, hypertension or high blood pressure, and are at a high risk of a stroke. This medication is usually available through a physician who has access to your health records and can prescribe the appetitive suppressant in a dose that is right for you.

The weight loss products were sold at retail stores and pharmacies across the country. The brands that have been pulled from the shelves are listed below.
