Housing Complex Failed To Provide Safety, Lawsuit Claims

A Kentucky woman has filed a lawsuit against a Lexington, KY gated community over the fatal shooting of her daughter last year, claiming that officials at the complex failed to protect her against the shooter. The daughter was gunned down by a former State Representative in September of last year inside the Opera House Square I LTD complex. The daughter and the State Representative were formerly engaged, but the woman had secured an order of protection against her former fiancee after the two broke up. The lawsuit claims that Opera House Square officials were aware of the dangers, but allowed the former fiancee to enter into the complex. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
