Lawsuit: Couple Started Fire To Collect On Insurance

An insurance company has filed a lawsuit against an Iowa couple, claiming they intentionally set fire to their home to collect the damages. The lawsuit claims that the couple were the only people in the house when the fire started and therefore are the only reasonable suspects. Shortly after the fire, the couple filed for bankruptcy, and one of the family’s lawyers noted that one of the couple has consulted a criminal lawyer as a result of an investigation conducted against them by the U.S. Attorney’s office relating to his former businesses.
