Dennis Kennedy and I will be in Washington, D.C. this week for the ABA Law Practice Management Section Fall Meeting. It has been awhile since Dennis and I have been in the same town at the same time, along with a lot of other legal technology folks. So we decided to have a meetup where we could get together, have a drink or a bite, and talk blogging, twitter, legal technology, or whether my Texas Rangers actually have a chance of beating the Yankees. Here are the details: Date: October 22, 2010 Time: Officially, maybe 7:00-ish, but really whenever two or more people show up. Place: Lobby of the JW Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC (looks like there's lobby seating and a lounge) - this is the meeting hotel for the ABA LPM meeting...

Signing PDFs from Your iPhone

Posted on September 22, 2010
I've been playing around with Sign It!, a great little app for the iPhone, this past week. Sign It allows you to open PDF files from multiple locations - from your email, from a URL, from your computer, or from a drop created at Drop.io. Once you open the file, you can do a couple of things with it - you can insert text, a signature, a custom stamp, or a date and time. After you have saved it, you can then attach it to an email, upload it to a Drop.io drop, or sync it to your computer. I wish there was a way to attach the signed PDF to the original email, but so far that's not an option with the iPhone. Still, this is a nifty tool to use if you need to sign or other wise annotate a PDF file but you're not anywhere near your computer.

Very interesting topic this week - give it a listen!

Blawg of the Day - Alabama Litigation Review

Posted on September 17, 2010
Today's blog hasn't posted in nearly 2 months, which is pretty close to me declaring it a "dead" or "dormant" blog - but I get so few blogs from Alabama, I decided to mention it in the event that this might get them going again. Alabama Litigation Review is published by Jeff Blackwell, of the Huntsville firm of Hornsby, Watson, Hornsby, Blackwell & McKown. As you might imagine, Jeff provides insights and commentary on developments in Alabama litigation, on topics like civil procedure, class actions, consumer claims, defective products, health insurance, punitive damages, workers' compensation, and more.
