True, it's still not as sophisticated as Word or WordPerfect, or Pages, but it gets the job done. To learn more, check out this article on Using Images in Google Documents.

Best Places for Free Online Storage
Posted on September 07, 2010If you have read this blog and/or have a pulse, you know how much I love Dropbox as an online file storage and syncing tool. But the free version of Dropbox only offers 2GB of storage - what if you want to store more files online? Well then, check out these 4 Best Sites to Get 10GB Free Online Backup and Storage. The author mentions four great sites, including: - Windows Live Skydrive, which offers a whopping 25GB of free storage - IDrive gives you 2GB at first, but will bump up your account with 10GB more if you refer the service to your friends. - Humyo, which was recently acquired by Trend Micro, offers 10GB of "free forever" storage - Binfire is a service I don't know much about - it's branded as a project management site, but with 10GB of online storage...

New features from Google Docs
Posted on August 31, 2010Want to grab the text from a PDF and throw it into a Google Doc? Well, now you can. When you upload PDF files to Google Docs, you'll now have the ability to convert text from PDFs or even images and store the text in a Google Docs document. It's not a perfect process, and there are definitely more efficient ways of doing this if you have to OCR (many people have turned the term Optical Character Recognition into a verb) a large number of documents.

Catching Up with The Kennedy-Mighell Report
Posted on August 23, 2010Over the past few weeks Dennis Kennedy and I have recorded two episodes of The Kennedy-Mighell Report, on two topics near and dear to our hearts. In "A Podcast Listener's Guide," we offer some practical advice on how to subscribe to podcasts (in iTunes or your favorite music device), as well as some suggestions for the right podcasts to select. This past week, we released "The Siteless Web Presence," where we discuss whether a lawyer or firm can exist online without a website or blog, and simply through a presence on various social media sites (my answer: you can't, really). Head over to the Legal Talk Network and give them a listen - and then subscribe to the podcast!
