I HATE apathy
Posted on May 17, 2008Don't tell me it's useless to try. Don't tell me I can't fight city hall. Don't tell me that there's nothing you can do but just sit back and accept that you can't change anything.Don't do it. I don't want to hear it.Maybe I'm idealistic and naive, but let me live in my little world...

What's up with the drive-by comment?
Posted on May 15, 2008So a couple of weeks ago I'm walking to class from the T, and as I'm walking I see two guys who were about my age walking in my direction. I hear one say to the other "I love this city!" as they approach, then "see what I mean?" or something like that as we passed each other...
Guess what I'm doing tonight?
Posted on May 15, 2008Nothing.Absolutely nothing. No homework, no studying. No obligations. And as much as I love my friends and family, I'm not even hanging out with them.Nothing but me, myself and I, home alone, doing whatever the hell I want. Eat what I want to eat. Watch what I want to watch on tv...
So, my last year is done...
Posted on May 15, 2008assuming I pass my classes, that is!My last exam, Civ Pro, was last night. And if I may say so, I think I did pretty darn good! It's the only exam so far that I've left feeling confident about afterwards. Which is weird, because it was the one I was the most afraid of...
Ha! My horoscope for today. :)
Posted on May 14, 2008Is it legalese, or something else? The rules by any other name are just as hard to follow. Do your best, as difficult as it is to bow down to authority.- By Astrology.comOn the day of my Civ Pro exam. Priceless. :)
I have fallen in love!
Posted on May 13, 2008With these guys. :) (By the way, it's amazing how productive I suddenly get with this blog when I'm supposed to be studying, isn't it?)Lauren and IRaggle Taggle GypsyIreland's CallCeltic Thunder. Of course, then there's Celtic Woman. :)Send Me a SongAt the CeiliOne World
How do you handle a self-centered friend?
Posted on May 12, 2008I actually can't study for Civ Pro until I put this out there.I have this friend, who I'll call Heather. My friend Natalie and I met her at a party about 6 months ago. Natalie and I have been friends since 7th grade. I started being friends with Heather first, but then Heather and Natalie became friends...
Which Intentional Tort Are You?
Posted on May 11, 2008I feel so honored? Twentyfive2Life added me to her blog links. Check out her blog! It's pretty cool. :) Anyway, that's how I also found this:take the WHAT INTENTIONAL TORT ARE YOU test.and go to mewing.net. because law school made laura do this.Am I annoying? Sometimes, probably...
The working class hero is no longer something to fear.
Posted on May 11, 2008I saw a commercial today for a collection of John Lennon's songs, and at one point in the commercial "Working Class Hero" was playing in the background. It got me thinking.Lennon is right that the working class hero is something to be feared-but unfortunately we lose that power if we don't exercise it...
My red tattoo
Posted on May 10, 2008So, I got this tattoo on my ankle. True story. :)I got it at the very end of March/beginning of April. It's still healing. I still have a little bit of a scab at a couple of points. I was wondering if the tattoo artist was too harsh because it seemed to be taking so long to heal, and I thought something was wrong with it because it turned from red to pink...
Contracts sucks
Posted on May 09, 2008I have my Contracts exam today. Please, God, let me pass it so that I never have to take Contracts again.Thank you. And now back to studying. :(
And.... it's done. I hope.
Posted on May 09, 2008My contracts exam. So weird. We all came out of it thinking "did I miss something?" It seemed too straightforward. The essays were kind of one-sided. We all feel like we didn't write enough. But there didn't seem to be any more to say! Only one issue could really be argued either way...
Hey, f*ck you, asshole!
Posted on May 05, 2008So, today I went to a nursery to look for an African Violet. I happened to be wearing my Suffolk Law School t-shirt. An older man hanging out at the cash register said "Are you going to be a lawyer"? When I said I was, he said "So you're going to be a thief?"...
Our first year is coming to an end
Posted on April 22, 2008I just found out another blogger put a link to my page on theirs! Check it out: Legal Musings and Geekery. He's a little bit smarter than me, considering he worked in high-energy, particle and laser physics before law school!Anyway, it's the last week of class before exams...
So when your lawyer husband gets disbarred, what's a judge to do?
Posted on April 18, 2008WMUR reported that Judge Patricia Coffey will be suspended for 3 years by the NH Supreme Court after being found guilty of helping shield her husband's assets by fraudulent property transfer. Her husband John Coffey was disbarred 3 years ago for exploiting an elderly client who had dementia...
Sea Conoly
Posted on April 14, 2008Yes, I spelled that right. All night, our contracts professor kept mispronouncing the name of the case we had to read today. Harrell v. Sea Colony. She even spelled the name correctly on the board, but continued to mispronounce it all during class. And each time she did, it struck me as being funnier and funnier...
I've arrived (again)!!!
Posted on April 14, 2008I'm so excited! First, two of my favorite bloggers put a link to my page on their blogs, but now Law v. Life tagged me! Although I'm not sure what a Meme is... Hey, I'm still new. :) Anyway, here I go tagging someone else. Lets see who reads this! Let's see...
What an idiot!
Posted on April 09, 2008This idiot was being processed before being brought to jail for a 30 day sentence related to drug charges when he fled from custody. He maintained contact with his court counselor and eventually turned himself in later in the day. He now faces 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison...
I still haven't found what I'm looking for...
Posted on April 09, 2008So these songs keep playing on the radio. Is somebody up there trying to tell me something? If they are, it's nothing I don't already know! :) U2's lyrics are a little more eloquent, though, in my opinion. Or at least not as obviously depressing! Can anybody find me somebody to love? Each morning I get up I die a little Can barely stand on my feet Take a look in the mirror and cry Lord what you're doing to me I have spent all my years in believing you But I just can't get no relief, Lord! Somebody, somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? I work hard every day of my life I work till I ache my bones At the end I take home my hard earned pay all on my own - I get down on my knees And I start to pray Till the tears run down from my eyes Lord - somebody - somebody Can anybody find me - somebody to love? (He works hard) Everyday - I try and I try and I try - But everybody wants to put me down They say I'm goin' crazy They say I got a lot of water in my brain Got no common sense I got nobody left to believe Yeah - yeah yeah yeah Oh Lord Somebody - somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? Got no feel, I got no rhythm I just keep losing my beat I'm ok, I'm alright Ain't gonna face no defeat I just gotta get out of this prison cell Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord! Find me somebody to love Can anybody find me somebody to love? I have climbed highest mountainsI have run through the fieldsOnly to be with youOnly to be with youI have runI have crawledI have scaled these city wallsThese city wallsOnly to be with youBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forI have kissed honey lipsFelt the healing fingertipsIt burned like a fireThis burning desireI have spoke with the tongues of angelsI have held the hand of a devilIt was warm in the nightI was cold as a stoneBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forI believe in the Kingdom ComeWhen all the colors will bleed into oneBleed into oneWell, yes I'm still runningYou broke the bondsAnd you loosened the chainsCarried the crossOf all my shameall my shameYou know I believe itBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forBut I still haven't found what I'm looking forBut I still haven't found what I'm looking for
Oh, no it's not.
Posted on March 31, 2008I'm working on finishing touches to my argument memo due in LPS today. I look out the window, and what do I see? SNOW. It's snowing. Again!Enough already. At least my LPS memo seems to be going well. Wish me luck!!Oh yeah. And the forecast for tomorrow? 60 degrees and mild...
My first time
Posted on March 26, 2008As in, I got called on to review a case in class for the first time today. I didn't read the case, but luckily it was in Torts. Fortunately whoever had my book obviously also had Professor Glannon, and highlighted all the same parts I would have. A couple of my classmates told me they never would have known I wasn't totally prepared...
Holy guacamole, I did it, I did it!
Posted on March 25, 2008My oral argument. I actually got through it. My professor said that the difference was like night and day between this and the one that I bombed. She said I was well organized and able to answer her questions then get right back on track. I was nervous, but I got through it! And at the end of it, when the student representing the plaintiff and I were putting our things away and I whispered to her that bombing the practice one had me seriously questioning whether I could really be a lawyer, my professor told us that we'd both make good lawyers someday...
What is UNH's problem?
Posted on March 23, 2008Ok, I know that's a provocative subject line, but seriously. I love my UNH men's hockey team. My friends and family know how much I love UNH hockey. But it's true. They choke. My dad keeps saying that as much as Dick Umile (pronounced you-MILL-ee) is loved by the UNH community, they need to get rid of him...
dun-dun-DUN!!!
Posted on March 20, 2008So, the thing I bombed before? The practice oral argument? The graded one is due on Monday. Which means that on Monday I'll be in the moot courtroom at school, with our professor dressed in judge's robes listening to our oral arguments. And she is TOUGH...
Another reason to love the Red Sox
Posted on March 19, 2008The players are getting paid $40,000 each to go play a game in Japan. The coaches? They're getting nothing. Even though they'd been paid in the past. That doesn't sound fair, does it? The guys on the team didn't think so, either. So this morning the players all got together and unanimously decided that they're going to boycott the game in Japan unless the coaches get paid, too...
The Collapse of and War on the Middle Class
Posted on March 19, 2008Very interesting article by Rep. Bernie Franks. Posted on buzzflash.com on September 4th, 2003:The Collapse of the Middle ClassA BUZZFLASH GUEST COMMENTARYby Rep. Bernie Sanders"Today, the richest 1 percent own more wealth than the bottom 95 percent, and the CEOs of large corporations earn more than 500 times what their average employees make...
Ireland, finally!!!
Posted on March 18, 2008I don't care if it took St. Patrick's Day to do it. I finally have Ireland to add to my list!!!Thank you :)
Banks suck
Posted on March 18, 2008I had a $3.01 overdraft. Two hamburgers and a small Sprite from McDonald's. And from that, Citizen's Bank made $39 off of me.Ok, ok, I know. Ultimately the overdraft was my fault, although it's hard to keep track sometimes when you're working and going to school...
