DealFlow Media Misplaces Credit... Gets It Wrong Again!

Posted on February 28, 2008
In a slow week for it that was punctuated with its two stories about a "pillow fight" and the scandal concerning its staff reporter's credibility after discovering the "pin up" of the model's video on his personal blog, DealFlow Media has tried to spin the story about NSSTA's Executive director search and is sensationally claiming a role in the decision not to hire Diane Swenson...

DealFlow Media Forced To Retreat From YET ANOTHER MEDIA DISASTER With its Structured Settlements Reporting

Posted on February 27, 2008
Deal Flow Media ("Deal Schmo") has now been forced to back track from a report about Law Cash that should never have been published because its reporters apparently never confirmed the facts. Confirming the story Structured Settlements 4Real reported yesterday, Deal Flow Media Structured Settlements Newswire carried the following: "Harvey R...

DealFlow Media's Alex Horvath's New "Stunt" To Cost Further Loss of Credibilty With The Structured Settlement Industry

Posted on February 27, 2008
02/27/2008 6pm THIS JUST IN!  It seems that DealFlow Media's Structured Settlements Report staff writer Alex Horvath has posted "a video shrine" to Marlies Pinto on his personal blog "Sleep Deprived"** which includes the SSI "supposed to be destroyed videos"...

The Acquirer Doesn't Realize That "Size Matters"* and the Seller Advertises A Professional Designation That Does Not Exist

Posted on February 27, 2008
Noted author and structured settlement factoring promoter Patrick Hindert has announced that The Snyders are selling their structured settlement general agency, Delta Group to Upchurch Financial Services and showered them with platitudes. I hate to rain on "the lovefest" but somehow he missed this...

Psycho Settlements 101: More Bentzen B.S.

It is common to confuse traits of a superiority complex those who possess confidence and knowledge. Those that possess neither often attack those who possess both.

IMPORTANT Clarification Concerning Prudential!

Posted on February 26, 2008
Yesterday it was announced that Prudential would be merging two of its business units, Structured Settlements and Defined Benefit Annuities into a single organization. As part of the consolidation two successful middle managers were let go, including Brian Ginty, a Vice-President, under whose leadership Prudential structured settlements recorded its 3 biggest sales years in the two decades of its issuing structured settlement annuities...

West Virginia Factoring Bill Update

Posted on February 26, 2008
The Charleston Daily Mail story covered yesterday has been discovered to be partly inaccurate due to the fast moving nature of the bill. This author has highlighted the latest version of WV Bill HB 4613 which has passed the WV House and is now in the WV Senate...

More Bentzen Funding Solutions B.S.

Posted on February 26, 2008
Are the sources drying up for both Rhonda Bentzen and DealFlow Media? In practicing the clumsy strategy of "shoot first and ask questions later", both of these folks felt it newsworthy to report about a never aired factoring ad, whose brainchild was a terminated former employee of the referenced organization...

The Factoring Battle in West Virginia Continues

Posted on February 25, 2008
The Battle for West Virginia continues . A bipartisan group of West Virginia delegates is pushing a new bill that adds restrictions for structured settlement transfers (structured settlement factoring transactions). West Virginia Delegate Ron Walters has introduced a new bill  that would require courts to appoint a guardian ad litem, to protect and represent the claimant's interests in structured settlement factoring transactions...

Factoring Smackdown 2-Yet Another Factoring BROKER goes where Bentzen Won't. What's SHE Afraid Of?

Posted on February 24, 2008
Add another factoring broker, Andrew Cravenho of Settlement Quotes to those that have risen to the educational challenge that I put out to Rhonda Bentzen, of Bentzen Funding Solutions, on Ciemelewski case in "Factoring Smackdown 2". Cravenho stated that he would make an offer of $32,000 (an 8...

JG Wentworth/321 Henderson Rip Off Report

Posted on February 24, 2008
Just came across this about an Atlanta, GA based annuitant that claims they were screwed by JG Wentworth "Over and Over and Over". The Rip Off Report post speaks for itself. Click here for the report. One ironic thing that I noticed is that Rip Off Report has embedded text links from Kontera Corporation...

More Bentzen BS on Allstate's AFEN

Posted on February 22, 2008
Factoring broker Rhonda Bentzen's (or her sock puppet's) selective amnesia or lack of reading comprehension isn't our problem readers. While she steps in the "steaming pile", readers can judge for themselves whether or not our coverage of Allstate's AFEN has been objective, by simply clicking on the Allstate Structured Settlements category in the right column of this blog...

We're Talking the Difference Between "Plantar Fascia" and "Prima Facie"!

Posted on February 22, 2008
A banner ad in the right column of DealFlow Media's Structured Settlements Wire attempts to induce advertisers with the promise that 5,000 Structured Settlements Industry Specialists... 5,000 Professionals Who can Make a Difference will see your ad. In referring to the "industry", prospective advertisers may wish to ask, are we referring to DealFlow Media Director of Sales Jim Patrick's hypothesis or, DealFlow Media Editor and Publisher Brett Goetschius definition of the structured settlement industry (i...

Important Update on the Allstate Advanced Funding Exchange Notice (AFEN)

Posted on February 22, 2008
As previously reported on January 28, 2008  Allstate  has decided to terminate the sending of AFEN notices to structured settlement annuitants with its annual statements. Structured Settlements 4Real sources confirm that the process of termination is not simply the matter of "flipping a switch" because the AFEN notices are "embedded" with the other statutorily required annual notices and a data center overhaul is required...

Is JG Wentworth Targets 18-25 Years Olds in "Loserville, USA" With Its New Commercial

Posted on February 22, 2008
No doubt brought to you by the "geniuses" who brought us people shouting from every open window and balcony about needing cash, JG Wentworth's new commercial features poor sound and a "swashbuckling lithping spokethsman" who battles various animated "debt monsters", who in turn amazingly disintegrate by the gentle push of the door shut on them...

Structured Settlement Factoring Vig Taking Brings Added Fiduciary Obligation

Striking parallels exist between controversy of broker compensation in the life settlement market and the controversy surrounding it in the structured settlement factoring market. Ferrari For Structured Settlement?

Posted on February 21, 2008
Structured Asset Funding (a/k/a 123 Lump Sum, a/k/a 123 Lump Dumb, a/k/a you know who's funding source) continues to suggest in its web advertising that selling structured settlement payment rights to buy a luxury car or boat is a good idea. Its web advertising contains a picture of what is believed to be a Ferrari (but I'll defer to sports car enthusiasts if I'm wrong)...

Google Is Clamping Down on Copyright and Trademark Violations

Posted on February 20, 2008
Erstwhile structured settlement "splogger of the century", John Jonas is spilling tears over getting suspended from Google Adwords for a trademark violation. Here's how he blubbed it on the John Jonas blog. The message is, be aware and respectful of other people's trademarks and copyrights! For the uninitiated, Google Adwords are those "originally intended to be useful"  pay per click ads that are peppered around virtually every Internet page...

New York Structured Settlements 101 "Awards v Settlements"

Posted on February 19, 2008

"Factoring Smackdown" 2

Posted on February 19, 2008
It's "Factoring Smackdown 2" and the "90%" of structured settlment industry clients of factoring broker Bentzen Funding Solutions who take the structured settlement factoring vig ought to be asking Rhonda Bentzen to quote the recent New York Cimielweski case as an example...

"Tell Me That Temptation Is Very Hard To Resist, But These Wicked Women, Ooh They Just Persist"

Posted on February 18, 2008
The utility of a gossip is only as good as the quality of the intelligence. I wish I could afford to buy the Halpern Group. I am however, not one of the top 10 banks in the United States. But upon reading Bentzen's 3rd post of the day ABOUT ME (bringing her "obsession" to 82...

While She Fiddles With "Her Obsession" Her Competitors Can't Believe Their Luck

Posted on February 18, 2008
The astounding thing about the Rhonda Bentzen meltdown is that since December 1, 2007 she has written a total of 16 blog posts and 13 of them, or 81.25% are directly about me, or have something to do with me. On the other hand I have written 134 or so posts during that time and only 9 or so, 6...

DealFlow Media "Structured Settlements Report" Subscribe if you Wish, Ignore If You Wish. Advertise If You Wish. Understand The Implications.

Posted on February 18, 2008
DealFlow Media is continuing to give the "hard sell" to structured settlement industry general agents for a publication  which is clearly slanted towards the factoring industry. It doesn't really matter WHO owns DealFlow Media does it? Who influences it? DealFlow Media now considers "semantics" the words "industry" which, in my opinion, it specifically used to mischaracterize, in an attempt to induce structured settlement general agents and others to part with their money, and "market" as a means for its editor and publisher to cover their posterior in an email to a structured settlement genral agent...

Doing the Right Thing is Not Exclusive To One Side Or Another. It IS Exclusive To One's Humanity and Integrity

Posted on February 18, 2008
It is evident by her own statements and the definition of how she does business, Rhonda Bentzen does not comprehend that doing the right thing is not exclusive to one side or another. It is exclusive to one's humanity and integrity. Our business involves real tragedy and real headaches involving profoundly injured people...
