Reflections on the Kevin Keith Clemency Hearing

Today's Mansfield News Journal reports, "Kevin Keith triple murder: Attorneys await word on clemency," written by Dan Clutter.Ohio's nine-member clemency panel could have a recommendation ready for the governor by Wednesday in the Kevin Keith capital murder case.And:The panel can only make a recommendation to the governor, which he can follow or ignore. He's done both in his tenure.Gov. Ted Strickland can deny clemency, in which case Keith's execution goes on as scheduled; he can commute Keith's sentence to life in prison; or he can issue a full pardon.Keith has asked for a full pardon.The Akron Beacon Journal wrote the editorial, "Flawed Conviction," which appeared last Thursday.
